Juan Pelayo is a Bay Area native, growing up in Sunnyvale and San Mateo. Juan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a National Hispanic Scholar. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in November of 2006. While in law school he clerked for the Honorable Judge John Dearman of the San Francisco Superior Court. Juan is currently enrolled in a Master’s in Finance program with an emphasis in accounting at Harvard University.
Juan’s practice focuses on representing individuals and businesses in tax planning and tax preparation, compliance, and controversies. He is admitted to the United States Tax Court and has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, and California State Board of Equalization.
Juan enjoys working on business transactions. He assists his clients in business formation, maintenance and dissolution. Juan also practices in the areas of estate planning, and the administration of estates and trusts.
Juan is fluent in Spanish and a member of the State Bar of California, the San Francisco Bar Association, and the Taxation Law Section of the State Bar.
